Welcome on board of Akka
Our comfortable Sweden ferry has 220 cabins and can accommodate about 700 passengers. Spread over nine decks are four vehicle decks and three decks with cabins and public areas, such as the reception, the restaurant and the Panorama Bar, our TT-Line Shop and many other highlights for a comfortable trip to Sweden.
When choosing the name of our ship, we decided to stick with the story “Nils Holgersson’s wonderful journey through Sweden”. In the story of the Swedish author Selma Lagerlöf, published in 1906, Akka von Kebnekaise is the leading goose of the flock of wild geese, which Nils Holgersson and his goose Martin join.
Due to her advanced age and her life experience, Akka is considered dignified, venerable, assertive, respected, and wise. She is known for taking in only the best and fastest geese in her flock. During their journey, Nils and Akka experience some adventures that ensure that Nils changes his behavior and becomes a courageous, brave, and respectful boy.

Technical Specifications
Our TT-Line ferry Akka, which was put into service as Nils Holgersson VI in July 2001, was built on the SSW Fähr- und Spezialschiffbau in Bremerhaven with a length of 190 meters. The renaming of Nils Holgersson VI into Akka took place in January 2022.
It is equipped with two diesel-electric POD propulsion systems and a hybrid scrubber for exhaust air purification. In accordance with the strict regulations for ships sailing in the Baltic Sea, the hybrid wet scrubber system on Akka removes sulfur oxides and particulates from the exhaust gases.
